Chongqing's airport is very modern (at least the area we saw) and lines were short, although the immigration officer seemed befuddled that our 10-year Chinese visas were in our expired passports, but he let us through.
Hainan may be phasing out chauffeur service, but we enjoyed a strangely quiet 30-minute drive to the Hilton. We offered the driver a tip but he politely refused, which is fine with us.
The Hilton feels deserted. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and most travelers may be home. They kindly assigned us a room before 8:00 a.m.
After a coffee in the empty Executive Lounge, we're retiring for a nap.
