After a forgettable visit to an open market (Maria must have mistaken us for shoppers in the wake of the table runner), we made a couple of quick photo stops. One was a "hotel" that consists of three sleeping capsules on the side of a mountain, accessible by some kind of gondola. At a thousand bucks a night (or even five bucks a night), no thanks.
Guinea pigs, Cuy, are not pets but delicacies here, but we passed on that treat, despite stopping at at a stand.
From there, we moved onward to the highlight of our day, the Inca site at Ollantaytambo. Little did we know how our day would subsequently unfold, or more precisely, unravel.
