A recent Practical Traveler column in the New York Times features an interview with a young traveler nicknamed Lucky, who also writes a travel blog.

We're going to be meeting Lucky in October but in the meantime the tips he reveals for those serious about gaining compensation for voluntarily taking a "bump" off their flight include some we've found useful as well.

A good article summarizing the strategies for getting bumped. For those of us with flexible schedules the strategy makes sense and can certainly pay off.
